The Island Games 2025
Orkney is making history this summer as we proudly host the 20th International Island Games, 12–18 July, 2025. Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will officially open the Games at Bignold Park, Kirkwall, on the 12 July.
2,000 athletes from 24 island groups will compete in 12 thrilling sports. It's a vibrant celebration of sport and community and a truly unmissable event!
Kirkwall Hotel Highland Park Bar

Calling all foodies! Mark your diary for the Orkney Food & Drink Festival, 20-21 September 2025, at Kirkwall Grammar School.
This star-studded event will be headlined by celebrity chef James Martin, alongside MasterChef 2024 winner Brin Pirathapan and Great British Bake Off 2023 winner Matty Edgell. Enjoy celebrity cooking demonstrations, Q&A sessions, tastings, and a host of local producers showcasing our island larder.
